Editorial policy
The TOD blog helps athletes understand their development and communicate their experience. We aim for clear, useful articles that distinguish general education from individual advice.
Who writes our articles
Articles attributed to TOD editorial team are organizational articles. This byline does not imply that a doctor, dietitian or other specialist reviewed the article. A named author or reviewer is identified only when they contributed in that role. Where available, their name links to information about their experience.
Sources and examples
We use relevant primary sources and recognized professional organizations for consequential health and training claims, and link to sources so readers can check them. General examples are illustrative; they are not testimonials or promises of results. Stock photographs illustrate a topic and do not identify the people discussed.
Health and young athletes
Our articles provide general education. They cannot determine an individual athlete’s training load, diagnose symptoms or prescribe a diet. Young athletes should involve a parent or trusted adult and appropriate qualified professionals when making health decisions. We do not claim specialist review unless the article names the reviewer and review date.
Updates and corrections
We correct factual errors and review material when reliable new information affects its advice. Publication and meaningful-update dates appear on articles. To report an error, contact us with the article URL, the passage concerned and a supporting source if available.
Images and commercial interests
We use images with permission or an appropriate license and record credits. Images do not imply endorsement by a depicted person or brand. Any sponsored relationship or material commercial interest should be disclosed in the article.
